IBC tanks are designed to simplify the transportation of difficult-to-handle substances and dangerous goods. Consequently, these tanks must meet numerous requirements regarding durability, manufacturing materials, capacity and more.\r\nFor example, an IBC tank must be ADR approved to legally transport fuel, although exemptions apply for private ADR transport using tanks below 450 litres.\r\nAt MPP, we manufacture and supply IBC tanks in several practical formats and sizes, tailored to the many industries and environments where safe and efficient fuel handling is essential.\r\nOur aluminium pickup tank is a good example: design protected in the EU and Norway, PEFC certified, manufactured from maintenance-free materials and available in capacities from 150 to 400 litres.\r\nUnlike plastic IBC tanks, which are generally limited to a maximum certification period of five years, our aluminium pickup tanks have no such expiry limitation.\r\nYou can find the applicable regulations here (from page 985 onwards).\r\n"},{"faq_title":"What does ADR mean?\r\n","faq_content":"ADR is a European agreement governing the road transport of dangerous goods. The Swedish implementation is known as ADR-S and is issued by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB).\r\nADR stands for Accord Europ\u00e9en Relatif au Transport International des Marchandises Dangereuses par Route, or in English: European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road.\r\n"},{"faq_title":"What does PEFC mean?\r\n","faq_content":"The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) is an international certification system for sustainable forestry.\r\nTanks used by PEFC-certified organisations must be UN marked and ADR certified. However, ADR-approved plastic tanks must still be discarded after five years and include a moulded manufacturing date indicator.\r\nOur aluminium pickup tanks have no such expiration date, and the corrosion-resistant, maintenance-free material also helps keep fuel clean during storage.\r\nThe tank complies with all requirements applicable to tanks used by PEFC-certified businesses.\r\n"},{"faq_title":"Can I transport a diesel tank on public roads if it is not ADR classified?\r\n","faq_content":"Yes.
